Sandy's Office Supply Launches an Integrated Online Store Developed by Sierra Bravo Corporation

BLOOMINGTON, MN, March 22, 2004 — Sierra Bravo Corporation, a web development company, completed a new online store application for Sandy’s Office Supply of Aspen, CO. The new site was launched on March 15, 2004 and can be visited at www.sandysofficesupply.com.

Sandy’s Office Supply hired Sierra Bravo Corporation to create an online store that is fully integrated into their existing legacy business system. The online store project was thoughtfully designed to provide an easy and convenient interface for new and existing customers to shop for office products. Sierra Bravo’s expertise in integrating web applications into legacy “green screen” business applications allowed for a completely integrated solution.

The online store was Sandy’s Office Supply’s response to a growing demand from their existing customers to simplify they way they purchase their office products and access their account information.

“A completely integrated system was a must for our customer due to their complex pricing systems and need for immediate order processing. Managing a stand-alone web site introduces many complexities for this type of business which lead to delayed order processing and incorrect or outdated information,” said Luke Bucklin, President of Sierra Bravo Corporation.

Sandy’s Office Supply’s business system is a 15-year-old Pick-based application that has only a character-based interface. The many customizations added over the years, however, make it a powerful business system that streamlines the order processing, billing and purchasing seamlessly and efficiently. “Our unique skills and tools enabled us to preserve their existing application and extend the software capabilities to the web site. For example, their existing price calculations and order processing workflows are activated by the web application, including EDI purchase order transmissions and printing of picking tickets, when orders are placed online,” explained Bucklin.
